    Hi! I'm Jennifer Schattle and I'm a portrait photographer based in Austin, Texas.

    At every single portrait session I photograph, I strive to capture more than just how you look. My goal is to tell a story ... the story of you. Who you are today, right now, in this moment. Silly three year olds are allowed (and encouraged!) to be silly. Teenagers are never asked to say cheese. Don’t want to pose in front of the fireplace? Good, because I wasn’t planning on asking you to. Children and family portraiture has come a long way in the last few years and there’s nobody more excited about it than me. Whether you’re just starting your family, up to your ears in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or sending your teenager off to college soon ... I’m here to help capture the moments you’ll be looking back on for a lifetime.

    So relax, ditch the matching outfits, be yourselves and let’s have a blast!

Kevin + Heather + Wesley + Ben

It was a super chilly morning when Kevin and Heather, along with two of their sweet boys, met me for their session. And both Wesley and Ben couldn’t have been any cuter! I also really enjoyed getting to chat with Heather after not having seen her in more than 10 years … we were brownie sisters from troop 562 and high school classmates!

Blake + Kimberly + Miss Hadley

After Kimberly and I started chatting, we realized that we knew a couple of people in common. I just love when that happens! Other things I love … when families do a fabulous job putting together their wardrobes for the session and even bring a few cute props to use too!

Blake and Kimberly, along with their super adorable daughter Hadley, joined me for an evening of fun recently. And to make sure we ended our time together on a sweet note, Kimberly brought a first birthday cake for Miss Hadley to dig in to …

30 days new … meet Grant Owen

Already parents to two adorable children, I was completely honored when Buster and Jenifer asked me to photograph the arrival of their new little guy ~ Grant Owen. Having made his debut 30 days early, we waited until closer to his actual due date for the session. Grant was perfect in every way … and I was completely smitten with his full head of hair!

Stand tall oh mighty oak, for all the world to see

It’s been awhile since you last saw Camdyn and Cade … so I told Michelle to meet me at the home Jimmy grew up in for a fun shoot in the country. Let me tell you, I didn’t have to ask twice! In record time, she was able to find Camdyn, Cade and Brenna all adorable outfits plus a fabulous vintage tricycle to use during the session!

Sweet Camdyn loved sitting in a chair that belonged to her grandfather … that was built by her great-grandfather!

I’m definitely not trying to play favorites … but Cade stole the show this time!

Camryn turns one!

You first met Miss Camryn a few months ago and now this little princess has turned one. Not only is she walking really well, she’s also full of sweet smiles. Craig and Sarah wanted to be sure we captured this momentous occasion and I couldn’t agree more.
