  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I'm Jennifer Schattle and I'm a portrait photographer based in Austin, Texas.

At every single portrait session I photograph, I strive to capture more than just how you look. My goal is to tell a story ... the story of you. Who you are today, right now, in this moment. Silly three year olds are allowed (and encouraged!) to be silly. Teenagers are never asked to say cheese. Don’t want to pose in front of the fireplace? Good, because I wasn’t planning on asking you to. Children and family portraiture has come a long way in the last few years and there’s nobody more excited about it than me. Whether you’re just starting your family, up to your ears in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or sending your teenager off to college soon ... I’m here to help capture the moments you’ll be looking back on for a lifetime.

So relax, ditch the matching outfits, be yourselves and let’s have a blast!

Sock Monkey First Birthday :: Styled Shoot

First birthday parties are so much fun … especially when styled by Jenifer and Hello Love Designs! For Kason’s big day, it was important to incorporate sock monkeys into the theme and I am positive this party had a bunch of cute ones!

Here are my favorites.

Loved this handmade wreath!

After coming inside to start photographing the details, Kason, the guest of honor, crawled under the table to greet me!

A candy bar is always a sweet idea!

Love these poms!!!

Ahhhh! What a cute idea for the lantern!

These cookies were over the top AMAZING!!! Icings by Ang is ridiculously talented!!

This miniature smash cake was made with love by Kason’s uncle … beautiful job Buster!!

Look how adorable these banana pudding parfaits are …

Meet Elvis. He also joined in the festivities by sporting a cute monkey ribbon!

Happy first Birthday Kason!! And thanks for a great time Jen!!

Inspiration … creating beautiful baby boy nurseries

The nursery that Seth and Angie created for Zac couldn’t be any more perfect! Complete with lures, a custom bass tournament sign and a darling handmade fishing hat … this little guy will be ready to spend a day with his dad soon enough!

Here are my favorites.

LOVE this custom sign!

Doesn’t that little fishing hat just melt your heart?!?

Seth and Angie … Zac’s nursery is adorable!! Thanks so much for sharing it with me.

12 days new … meet Zac Ryker

Seth and Angie, along with big sister Audrie, welcomed a handsome little guy home in early March. Zac Ryker is super sweet and I can tell Audrie already loves him so much.

Here are my favorites.

So peaceful.

While Zac was taking a break … Miss Audrie introduced me to one of her babies!

I seriously love her curls so much!!

Seth and Angie … thank you so much for letting me photograph Zac. He is sooooo cute!!

Maddy ~ Class of 2013!

Maddy is an adorable young lady that I recently got to know while shooting her senior session. Not only does she have the most amazing personality and a huge heart, she also knows how to rock a photo shoot! From tons of wardrobe changes to props galore … Maddy was awesome to work with! Oh! And having an entourage was a totally fabulous idea!! Thanks Susan, Laurie and Jen for helping!!

Here are my favorites!

See … gorgeous!!

Dying. Seriously.

Ummmm. Love this too!

Maddy. I had so much fun hanging out with you!! Good luck at Texas A&M!! WHOOP!!!!

The Driskill Hotel :: Annie + Brandon

Annie and Brandon recently were married at The Driskill Hotel in Austin on a beautiful February evening shared with their family and friends. Annie was very clear about the vision she had for her wedding day – a short ceremony followed by a night of great food, drinks and dancing. I’m fairly certain she got exactly that, and that a great time was had by all!

Here are my favorites.

Annie’s mom was helping her get ready.

Annie was a gorgeous bride.

Brandon was a handsome groom.

The bride and groom were able to sneak away for a few minutes before heading to their reception.

Love.

Brandon got caught serenading his bride!

So sweet!

Enjoying a few hand rolled cigars on the balcony overlooking 6th Street.

Annie and Brandon, thank you for sharing your special day with me. I wish you both happily ever after.
